Cristina Matta, who writes as Krystiana Stacy Kelly, has a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Business and Translation, and a Master’s in Linguistics. She teaches English as a Second Language at a local community college. She has been reading mysteries since childhood. After surviving an 8.1 earthquake, she began writing about it. The Shattered Swan, the first of the Tamara series, is a fictional account of the August 15, 2007 earthquake in Ica/Pisco, Peru. The second book, The Crumbled Pyramid, just came out on December 22nd, 2012. She is currently working on the third book in the series, and has a non-fiction collection of accounts from earthquake survivors out soon. She lives in Chicago with her family and black lab.
