Karen grew up in an Irish/Italian storytelling family–telling stories became a way of life. Her first writings were poetry and children’s books, which she still loves to write. Karen says that “I get to let my imagination go insane writing for children.” Karen began as a nurse and a single mother of two children before she returned to college for her theatre arts degree and then a M.F.A in Creative Writing. She loves to write and read relevant fiction–in other words stories that are driven by the story itself. She is a very hands on author and gives free readings and/or book signings for schools, libraries, and book stores. She teaches African dance and yoga in her spare time and loves to be out of doors as much as possible–which is easy living in Sonoma California, the heart of wine country and exquisite wines.
She is currently working on her next novel, Between the Vines, a family saga about the wine industry as well as a heart wrenching love story. Her latest children’s books include The Legend of B.B. Fibberpants and Rosie the Dog Who Forgot to Grow!
