AR Simmons has written professionally for fifteen years. The former soldier and educator’s formal training is in historical research, and his roots (four generations) are in the central Ozarks where his stories are set, and where he lives with his wife, muse, and collaborator, Diana. His education is varied, from one of the last one-room schools through military service to a Master’s degree in history.
He writes “culturally immersive suspense,” the culture being that of the contemporary “Bible Belt.” His writing is grounded in the culture, mores, and social milieu in which he grew up and has spent a lifetime.
Each novel of his Richard Carter series of crime/suspense novels is a stand-alone story exploring the unique obsessions that drive one to violence.
